Town Stretch Code Adoption Process

February 23, 2010 - The Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) has revised its regulations regarding the local adoption process for the Stretch Code.  Of particular note is that the regulation no longer states that a town can adopt the Stretch Code by vote of the Board of Selectman.  As a result, the Green Communities Division has developed the attached guidance for towns, which advises them to adopt the Stretch Code via their town meeting process.  Sample article language and a sample bylaw are included in the Guidance for Stretch Code Adoption document.

If you have any questions regarding the process, please contact your regional coordinator.
